In the Beginning, There Was Rufus on Fire

This I know: Charlotte is a helluva town. Gateway from one Cackalacky to the other Cackalacky. A southern city overrun with northern transplants. The bars lick their lips. The pace is medium-rare. Folks drive like they're at Darlington. They sleep just across the Mecklenburg border for tax purposes. And we have professional basketball. And it is good.

No, the Bobcats teams of recent vintage haven't been good quality, but pro ball is good, and we rejoice to see it in Charlotte. Rufus on Fire will follow the Bobcats, because it is good to be enthusiastic, it is good to laugh and cry, and there is always more to learn and know about a helluva good thing.
